VirtualCallboard was first conceived in 2003 by Sam Anderson. While employed as a stage-management intern, he was delegated the responsibility of creating a small webpage to post rehearsal schedules and other company information online. The idea that became VirtualCallboard soon blossomed as he realized the incredible potential multiple type of vital information through the Internet.
Originally dubbed VirtualPSM (Virtual Production Stage Manager), development on this full-featured, interactive, and intelligent platform began. The vision for VirtualPSM was simple: allow company members and stage managers to quickly and easily access and interact with information that pertains to them.
VirtualPSM was also uniquely developed. While most software is written by programmers over a concentrated period of time, VirtualPSM was incrementally developed over 3 years while being used in real-world theatre companies.
In mid-2006, VirtualPSM was renamed VirtualCallboard to give a more universal, descriptive, and memorable name to the service.
VirtualCallboard’s growth has been steady since it became available and has gained acceptance throughout the industry. Many of our customers have been with us since the beginning. View what our customers have to say about our product.
